A well-defined chest gives the total upper body balance. It makes the abdominal, hips, and buttocks region appear smaller. It acts as a background for your triceps and biceps. It also promotes good posture.
The chest (pectorals) muscles are located just under your breasts. Their function is to help you move your arms. The muscles are shaped like fans and spread from your collarbone to your breastbone. The pectorals are divided into two areas, upper (clavicular) and medial (sternal). Your upper pectoral muscles are smaller than your medial pectoral muscles. In order to create balance of the pectoral muscles you must work your outer, upper, and inner muscles.
