1 - Rep Max Test
The One Rep Max (1 RM) is the ultimate test of strength. It is the maximum amount of weight you can lift on a given exercise for one rep. To prevent injuries and for safety a formula was created to predict your 1-RM.
Many weight training protocols list their weights to be used as a percentage of 1 RM. For example: (Perform 2 sets, 8 reps, full squats, at 70% of your 1-RM.) If your 1 RM for a squat exercise is 300 pounds, you would do 8 reps at 210 pounds.
