Soup Diet (Page 1 of 4)

About the Diet

The Soup Diet is a three-phase diet plan lasting for no longer than seven days. The diet plan is specifically designed to develop an immediate healthy weight loss. This diet plan promotes fat loss without the loss of lean muscle tissue. The diet plan is nutritionally balanced when supplemented with vitamins and minerals. All foods used in these plans are natural and can be purchased at your local supermarket.

Who should not follow this diet?

If you are an insulin-dependent diabetic, pregnant, have a liver, gallbladder, kidney, or cardiovascular problem, or have an infection, you should not start any diet program without first consulting your physician. This plan is no exception.

Vitamin & Mineral Supplementation

  • Vitamin C – 1,000 mg per day
  • Vitamin E – 200 iu per day
  • Calcium – 1,200 mg per day
  • Selenium – 100 mcg per day
  • Multivitamin -- Daily

Exercise Intensity

You should continue to follow a low intensity exercise program while you are following this diet. If you lower your caloric intake and do not exercise, you will lose lean muscle tissue. This loss of lean muscle tissue will slow your metabolism and make weight loss difficult.

We recommend you exercise every other day for 30 minutes at 60% to 75% of your maximum heart rate. For most people walking at a medium slow pace would satisfy this requirement. After you have completed this diet you can resume your regular exercise program.
